The Bend in the River Big Band will be performing this Thursday's Concert in Central Park after the pet parade. This is co-sponsored by Faribault Parks and Recreation and Slinger Electric.

They are one of the state's top full-size jazz bands and the 19-member ensemble is led by legendary trumpet/flugel player Bob Hallquist.

The Band performs a variety of jazz music. You can expect to hear Glen Miller-style songs and the latest jazz band arrangements from both the United States and Europe. The Band also features vocalist Linnea Martin. She once had an opportunity to be a singer on the Lawrence Welk Show, but she chose instead to get married and become a teacher.

Along with their Faribault performance, the band will be performing at all the Twin Cities major summer music venues, including the Como Lake Pavillion and Lake Harriet Bandshell.

En Plein View will again be working on their art projects and the Girl Scouts will have treats for sale. The concert is free.
