Okay, Christmas is over, pretty soon you'll be taking down the decorations and shutting off all those pretty lights and huge inflatables until the next holiday season. Now what do you do with that dried up tree that's dropping pine needles all over your carpet and that withered wreath?

The River Bend Nature Center in Faribault will help you give that old tree a second life by recycling it. Jake and Amanda Langeslag, owners of Goat Dispatch, are looking for your trees and wreaths as a treat for their goat herd during the winter months. This will save you that long trip out to the landfill and provide some yummy enrichment for the goats. Donations to River Bend are encouraged for those dropping off a tree and will be used to support our Restoration Club's land management work. They're helping you out by getting rid of your tree and wreaths, so help them out by leaving a few bucks.

Here's the technical info: Recycle your tree/wreath by dropping it off in the marked area in River Bend's main parking lot, next to the Interpretive Center. Make sure the trees and wreaths are bare and free of ornaments, decorations, wires, metal, and stands, and must not be flocked or artificial. No tree pick-up is being offered. You can even make your tree recycling donation online at Christmas tree donation page.

You can meet the goats from Goat Dispatch at River Bend's WinterFest event on January 21.
