Dr. Erik Stroemer of the Orthopedic and Fracture Clinic in Faribault will stop by the KDHL studio to talk about arthritis.

This is something I've battled the past few years, and he will give us the latest information about what improvements have been made in medication and therapy. There are also injections people can take, and even surgery. We will find out the latest tools people can use to lead a more pain-free life.

My dad had arthritis from head to toe and still played tennis into his 70s and did sit-ups every night into his 80s. He believed the doctors when they said exercise helps and I like to ride my bike in summer and stationary bike in winter to get my exercise.

I'll ask Stroemer if they still tout exercise as a way to keep those joints more limber.

I will say the pain is still there when I try to screw off a cap or tear into a food in virtually any vacuum-sealed bag.

Tune in at 9:30AM and get the latest in arthritis care. Or listen at your leisure by going to our YouTube channel. The show is generally there before the end of the day.
