One of our Townsquare Media Sales Associates, Lisa, noticed Tuesday that the old "Petro Wash" gas station on Highway 60 West, next to the Country Kitchen, was being demolished.

The station has been closed since 2010 and the tanks were removed in 2013, according to a report in the Faribault Daily News in November 2015.

According to another article in May 2014 in the Faribault News, years after the station closed, signs were still up that were visible from I-35 advertising gas when they were already closed. After a long back and forth with the owners, the city took the signs down because they were creating a nuisance.

It appears now that this business will within the next few days be just a memory. It is unclear at this point if someone has purchased the site for some other use or if the city is removing the eyesore.
