If I were to name some of my favorite types of seafood, I’d probably go with snow crab, salmon, lobster, walleye, tilapia, a good ol' sunny, sushi (if that counts), and swordfish – the steak of fish. One thing I’ve honestly never had, though? Crayfish. I can’t remember ever seeing it on any menu. Does it taste like lobster or snow crab? I’m not sure, but there’s one way I can find out.

This Saturday, the annual Crayfest block party is going down from noon to 8PM outside Smack Shack in downtown Minneapolis. General admission is $20 in advance and $25 at the door. There’s plenty of food and beer on hand, plus live music from Chase & Ovation, Viva Knievel, Private Oates, and Steeling Dan. Overall, it looks like a pretty fun block party where you can jam out and eat some crawdads. Yee-haw!

The intriguing option, though, are the VIP tickets. They cost $45 in advance and $50 at the door. While that seems a bit pricey at first, a VIP ticket gets you all-you-can-eat crayfish, burgers, and brats. If that’s not enough, it also allows you to drink bottomless beer and hurricanes. That…is a pretty tempting option if you really want to go all out. Even though your Sunday might be rough to say the least.
