It just makes sense, KDHL Farm Director Jerry Groskreutz would talk turkey today on AM Minnesota.  Minnesota Turkey Growers Association Executive Director Steve Olson joins Jerry to give us some cooking tips for that Thanksgiving staple and maybe they'll touch on the history of the Holiday too.  The first Thanksgiving was a three day feast in 1621 with Pilgrims and Native Americans celebrating the Pilgrims first successful harvest.  We do know Turkey was not on their menu.  It was recorded in writing by the Pilgrims that the Native Americans shot 5 deer for the event so we know Venison was on the menu.  There was no Pumpkin Pie and no Potatoes either.  Tune in 9:30 am and gobble up all sorts of turkey facts (sorry I couldn't resist).
