Dr. Erik Stroemer of the Orthopedic and Fracture Clinic in Faribault and Northfield will be stopping by the KDHL studio today to discuss joint replacements and sports injuries.

Stroemer is the team physician for the Shattuck-St. Mary's School and was the team physician for the national champion University of Minnesota women's hockey team from 2004-06. So we will touch on the weekend warrior sports injuries many of us suffer.

In addition to sports medicine, Stroemer specializes in joint replacement, arthroscopy and minimally invasive surgery.

If you have any questions please text them to (507) 838-5233.

One of the items we will definitely discuss will be pitch counts for young pitchers.

Pine Island head coach Craig Anderson is on a Minnesota State High School League baseball committee looking at implementing a pitch count limitation rule for players beginning next year. Anderson told me recently they are leaning toward the limitation being 110 pitches and they have to determine if that's per week or what time frame to use.

I'll be curious to hear the doctor's opinion.

AM Minnesota is at 9:30AM. If you can't listen then, go to our YouTube channel and take in the program.
