A  very light crowd saw Southwest Christian (7-2) defeat the Bethlehem Academy Cardinal girl's team (4-9) on Thursday night at Van Orsow Auditorium.

The Cardinals started off a little sluggish scoring only 14 points in the first half and allowing the Stars to get 31. The second half was better as the Cardinals scored 28 and held the stars to another 31 to make the final 62-42.

The Cardinals shot 14-44 (32 percent) from the floor and 12-17 (70 percent) from the free throw line and allowed 29 turnovers. Southwest Christian shot 21-66 (32 percent) and 14-23 (60 percent).

Keely Skluzacek had 18 points and Shelby Meyer had 12 to lead BA. They were our State Farm Insurance Agents of Faribault players of the game. Southwest Christian was led by 16 from Elizabeth Schwarz and 15 from Brenna Krommendyk.

The Cardinals are back in action Friday night at Maple River.
