Sundance Head delivered quite a twist on his country and blues-based approach on the Season 11 finale of The Voice on Tuesday night, joining classic rockers Kiss for a medley of some of their biggest rock hits.

Head has been doing country proud on Blake Shelton's team this year, and he sang his way into the finals with a series of very strong vocal performances over the course of the season. He joined Kiss for a joint performance of "Rock and Roll All Nite" and "Detroit Rock City" that juxtaposed the two songs, in a very unique performance that marked the iconic rockers' first-ever appearance on the highly-rated reality singing competition.

Head raved about the experience in advance of Tuesday night's finale.

"It’s crazy, man! I don’t know how to do it really," he tells Hollywood Life. "We had rehearsal already and I was just blown away because these guys are so nice. You know, they’re rock gods and they’re trying to tell me when I’m supposed to sing and I’m just sitting there amazing that they’re right there on stage with me. It was really surreal, man, to be up there at rehearsal and hear them start 'Detroit Rock City' and I could just feel the risers shaking from the drums."

The powerhouse vocalist previously competed on Season 6 of American Idol, placing in the Top 15. He subsequently recorded for Universal Motown, but admits he did not make the most of that opportunity.  He has certainly made the most of The Voice, with standout performance including covers of Miley Cyrus’ “The Climb” and Keith Urban‘s “Blue Ain’t Your Color.

He won his way into the finals with a cover of the Judds classic “Love Can Build a Bridge," and solidified that position on Monday night (Dec. 12) by performing an original song titled "Darlin', Don't Go," along with a stunning cover of the Etta James classic, "At Last."

Head is facing of with Billy Gilman, Josh Gallagher and We McDonald to see who will be crowned the winner of Season 11.
