The public is invited to a meeting to discuss and learn more about Gov. Mark Dayton's Buffer Strip Proposal. The meeting will be March 28 from 1-4 p.m. at the Owatonna Elks Club and will be moderated by Jerry Groskreutz of KDHL radio.

Minnesota Department of Ag Commissioner Dave Frederickson and State Sen. Vicki Jensen of District 24 have confirmed that they will be in attendance.

The governor has proposed a vegetative buffer of 50-60 feet wide bordering all state waters.

The meeting is being sponsored by the Steele County Farmers Union, Steele County Corn Growers and Steele County Soybean Growers.
