The Steele County 4-H Auction was held Saturday morning on the Steele County Fairgrounds in Owatonna. Once again it was great to see so many business and individuals there supporting the Steele County 4-H Auction. The 4-H members get a certain amount of the premium and the rest goes to the Steele County 4-H Foundation. There are many 4-H members with non-livestock projects that worked very hard, too. It is nice to see that some of the money will go to them for state fair trips, leadership camps and other things. The Steele County 4-H Foundation is responsible for how the money is spent.

While I was at the Steele County 4-H Auction I took this picture of a 4-H member with his poultry project. Because of the avian influenza the Minnesota Board of Animal Health would not allow any poultry at any of the county fairs. This Steele County 4-H member made a poster describing his poultry project. The posters were judged and members interviewed by the judge to determine which ribbon they earned.
