The 93rd annual Minnesota State Amateur Baseball Tournaments are underway this weekend in Hutchinson, Dassel and Litchfield.

All opening round Class B games are in Litchfield on Saturday and Sunday, with the defending state champion Dundas Dukes playing St. Michael on Sunday at 7:30PM.

The Miesville Mudhens open play Sunday at 1:30PM against Monticello.

Just 16 teams make the state tournament in Class B, and after the opening round it becomes a double-elimination tournament.

Next weekend's games will be in Hutchinson and Dassel before the semifinals return to Litchfield and the championship at noon Labor Day in Hutchinson.

Also participating from the KDHL/Power 96 region are the Rochester Royals, opening Sunday at 11AM against Chaska in Litchfield. The Austin Grehounds face Cold Spring at 7:30PM Saturday in Litchfield.

The Class C Tournament has 48 participants and it's single elimination all the way through. Region champions received byes the opening weekend.

The Faribault Lakers were the two-time defending Region 3C champs but did not win a playoff game this year. Lakers Pitcher Matt Lane was drafted by this year's champions, the Prior Lake Mudcats.

They open state tournament action next Sunday, August 28, at 11AM against the winner of the Hanska versus Loretto game in Hutchinson.

Region 5C champs Waseca play in Dassell at 5PM Sunday, August 28, against the winner of the Maple Lake versus St. Peter game.

Region 4C titlists Hampton play at 1:30PM Sunday, August 28, in Hutchinson against the winner of the Detroit Lakes versus Lastrup game.

  • 5PM Sunday in Hutchinson, Region 3 fourth seed St. Benedict vs. Milroy
  • Noon Sunday in Hutchinson, Region 4 Runner-up Blue Earth vs. St. Joseph
  • 11AM Saturday in Dassel, Region 3 third seed Shakopee vs. Regal
  • 11AM Saturday in Hutchinson, Region 4 third seed Minnesota Lake vs. Chokio
  • 5PM Saturday in Dassel, Region 3 runner-up Montgomery vs. St. Martin
