It sure was nice to see the snow disappearing. The last time I was so relieved to see the snow melt was 2013. When you are a farmer there are certain weather events and years you will always remember. The early May snow storm and prevented plant year of 2013 was one of them. I suspect this April with all the snow and record cold will be another year we will talk about and remember for many years!

There is always something special about being at the Minnesota FFA Convention on the St Paul Campus on a nice spring day. There are piles of snow that need to melt but they are going away quickly. While we would like to be in the field by this time we still have plenty of days to get the corn planted and expect a good crop. Sure, we likely need at least a week of good weather but when the fields are fit we can plant the corn crop very quickly!
