Section One captured another Nine-Man football title with a Spring Grove 32-0 win over Nevis at U.S. Bank Stadium.

The Lions were led by senior Cullen Patterson with 124 yards rushing on 17 carries in the running game and his teammate junior quarterback Alex Folz wasn't too far behind with 18 carries and 123 yards on the ground and 196 yards passing.

Folz threw for three scores and ran for another and accounted for 12 of the Spring Grove touchdowns in the State Tournament.

The Lions led 26-0 at the half.

It was Spring Grove's first football title in three trips to the Prep Bowl.

The Nevis Tigers were experiencing their first trip to state.

The Lions had 435 total yards and Tigers 250.

Spring Grove threw for 196 and Nevis 76 and the Lions had 239 rushing yards compared to the Nevis tally of 174.

Spring Grove was 6 of 10 in third down conversions and Nevis 1 for 9.

Six different receivers caught multiple passes for the Lions in the game.

The previous four state titles had all been one by Section One with Grand Meadow claiming all four.  Spring Grove defeated Grand Meadow during the regular season and in the Section semi-finals.
