Special Olympics Softball Tournament In Faribault

Sixteen teams from throughout southern Minnesota were in Faribault Sunday to partake in a Regional Softball Tournament.  The tournament features different skill levels with one division having some of the players use a tee or a coach pitch to them.  The Faribault Flash did very well in the highest skills division where players also pitch.  The Flash won both of their games.  I got to send the teams off during opening ceremonies again and it's just an awesome event.  I feel honored to participate with these athletes who approach the games with a passion that is lacking in some professional athletes.  Opening Ceremonies included a police torch run and the singing of our National Anthem.  I got to introduce each team and remind everyone to practice good sportsmanship on an absolutely perfect weather day.  Thanks Special Olympics Faribault for asking me to participate again.
