This is a picture from my combine cab Friday afternoon shortly before sunset. It was the last 8 rows of beans I had left to harvest of the 2017 crop. Many other farmers finished with their beans Friday night too. After waiting for dry weather for about 2 weeks the weather was perfect this week and farmers made the most of it! It is amazing how fast a bean field can be harvested these days.

It is ironic that farmers had to wait for days for the beans to get dry enough to harvest and very quickly they were too dry! Notice the cloud of dust coming off my combine head. It was so dusty it was sometimes hard to follow the rows, especially at night. There were times when you would watch one side of the head or the other (depending on wind direction) to see where to drive. It sure would have been nice to have a hands free guidance system on my combine.
