The Southern Research and Outreach Center in Waseca will be hosting an open house Thursday afternoon from 4-8PM rain or shine. It has been a couple of years since SROC in Waseca has held an open house. The theme of the open house is Agriculture for the 21st Century. Visitors can learn more about university research and how it affects their daily lives. It will be a fun, free event for the entire family, including a picnic supper that will be served from 4:30-7PM.

There will be door prizes, 4-H games and projects for the kids, a corn maze and farm animals. In addition, you can learn about Minnesota's grape and wine industry, dine at the Chemopreventice Cafe, and sample locally produced wine and beer. The SROC open house is presented by the Southern Research and Outreach Center, University of Minnesota Extension, Minnesota Agricultural Experiment Station, and the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resources Sciences.
