American folk music duo Simon and Garfunkel split at the height of their fame in 1970 and people of all generations still love their rich harmonies.

Sounds of Simon, A Tribute to Simon and Garfunkel is Saturday at 7:30PM at the Paradise Center for the Arts in downtown Faribault.

Paradise Executive Director Carter Martin stops by KDHL to give us more details about the event.

Most of us know the songs. My favorite is "Bridge Over Troubled Water," but there were so many more hits turned out over a relatively short period of time.

"Sound of Silence," "Scarborough Fair," "Cecilia," "Kathy's Song" and "I Am A Rock" are a few of my other favorites.

The duo of Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel produced five studio albums and have periodically joined forces for reunion tours over the years.

They met in elementary school in Queens, N.Y. Both are 73.

Time does not appear to have lessened the bitterness Garfunkel feels about the breakup.

In an interview with the United Kingdom Telegraph in May of this year, Garfunkel reportedly told them he reached out to Simon in grade school because he felt sorry for him because of his small physical stature.

Saturday night nobody will care about the split. All will simply sit and listen to the magical music of Simon and Garfunkel that still moves us.
