The Rice County Soil and Water Conservation District will be hosting a Soil Health Workshop on Thursday, December 8, at the Forest Town Hall. From Interstate 35 take exit 66 and head west on County 1 Boulevard for 2 miles. The workshop will be from noon to 4PM. A pizza lunch will be provided. Please RSVP by December 7 so they know how much pizza to order. Call the Rice County Soil and Water Conservation office at (507) 332-5408 if you plan to attend.

The program will include videos from this year's soil health project. Remember there was going to be a field day about the soil health project but it was rained out. There will also be discussions on cover crops, grand opportunities for adapting soil health practices, the science behind soil health soil erosion. Finally there will be a rainfall simulator demonstration so you can see for yourself the impact of residue and cover crops. It sounds like a very educational program. By the way, it is free, including the lunch!
