KDHL has carried the Renfro Valley Gathering for many years, I think many more years than I have even been around. I thought it was a good show. And I know many of you are asking why it is not on the air anymore.

I want to tell you first of all, it's not that I just decided to discontinue the show. Last March we noticed that the shows stopped coming each week to their distribution site. I made some calls and did not get a response. In the mean time we began rerunning shows from the year before. A couple of months went by, I called the folks in Kentucky again, they said their producer had left and when they got a new one, the shows would probably resume. I kept checking and asking and the responses from them stopped coming and now we were up to December. We made a decision that we could not keep doing re-runs; I was not getting any responses from them if the show was going to resume and so we made the decision to replace it.

So we made the decision to move Born to Win to the 7AM time slot and we added the Sing for Joy program at 6:30AM. This program is produced at St. Olaf in Northfield so it was a slam dunk to add an area program. And Red Barn Radio is an entertainment show from Kentucky with about the same music style as Renfro had so we thought we would give this one a shot.

If Renfro Valley Gathering does resume production, we will look at getting it back into the schedule. Thanks for your questions on this. Have a great day.

John
