Snow in June????

I went out to the farm Thursday afternoon to spray a corn field. I was quite surprised at how firm the fields were after 2.75 inches of rain last weekend! This is a picture of my “white” sweetcorn field. Look closely and you can see the sweetcorn plants that are just emerging. Yes, this part of the field is white, but thankfully, it is not snow. This is right next to Dad’s yard with five large cottonwood trees. I suspect that is why the tree was named a cottonwood. It sheds seed every year that looks like cotton. As you can see there is a lot of it. We have a silo that is 75 foot tall and these trees are taller than the silo!
