Recently I wrote a post about World Naked Gardening Day this Saturday (5/6), which seems like an unusual kind of thing to celebrate but I think I may have found something even stranger. Today is Hug a Shed and Take a Selfie Day. According to DaysOfTheYear.com, "Hug a Shed and Take a Selfie Day was born out of one man’s love of gardening and that sacred space of the gardener, the shed."

For a lot of people who are seriously into gardening and yard work, the shed is the place they store all their tools and items that they use to pursue their hobby. For them it is a place of quiet serenity where they can go and contemplate their next project. It is on this day that you are encouraged to go out to your shed and give it a big hug and then, well you've probably guessed this next part, take a selfie of you and your shed. Then send it to me at mike.eiler@townsquaremedia.com and I'll post it online for all the world to see.
