Shepherd's Center of the Cannon Valley Executive Director Rod Johnson will stop by the KDHL studio to give us details about their "Winter Dance Party" fundraiser.

We will be joined via telephone by entertainer John Mueller, a member of the group that bills itself as the official live and authentic re-creation of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper's final tour.

The show includes more than two hours of unbridled, high voltage entertainment featuring all the hit songs of the '50s era.

Johnson was the farm director at KDHL when I first came to Faribault in 1987 and now, in addition to his benefit auctions and Shepherd's Center work, is the public address announcer at the Target Center for Minnesota Timberwolves games. He is a Cannon Falls native.

Last time the "Winter Dance Party" was in Cannon Falls, Johnson had to call a Wolves game and asked if I would emcee the event. It was a blast, and I can tell you this is exactly as it's billed. High energy and you will be tapping your toes and remembering all these songs.

All proceeds benefit Shepherd's Center of the Cannon Valley and tickets are available online by going to www.shepherdscenter.eventbrite.com. You can also swing by the Shepherd's Center or Scofield Drug in Cannon Falls.

AM Minnesota begins at 9:30AM. If you can't listen at that time, the program will be on our YouTube channel.

The Cannon Falls Theatre facility has incredible acoustics. I'm not the only one to say that. Multi-Grammy award winner Ricky Skaggs performed there and complimented Cannon Falls for having such an acoustics marvel.
