The Minnesota Farmers Union will be hosting a Rural Renewable Energy Discussion on Tuesday November 21, 2017 at the Events by Saker located at 8th Street Southeast in Kasson. The discussion will begin at 11:30 AM and wrap up at 3:30 pm. There will be a social time after the discussion. You can get more information and register on the Minnesota Farmers Union web site or call Thom Peterson 651-288-4067. This is a very timely forum as there is a lot of interest in renewable energy as a way to increase farm income.

At the discussion will be two German farmers who have turned their participation in Germany's energy transition into a long term economic advantage. The opportunity to talk with a farmer who has some experience in renewable energy will be very valuable. There is a lot of growth of wind energy in Southern Minnesota. There are a couple very large wind farms but also many farmers with their own wind turbines. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we will be done with harvest by then!
