Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Rochester Police have released the names of the suspect and the victims of a double-homicide.

Olmsted County Adult Detention Center

Police Captain John Sherwin issued a statement Sunday afternoon indicating 53-year-old Glenn Roger Johnson was being held in the Olmsted County Jail on suspicion of second-degree murder in connection with the stabbing deaths of two men inside the Rochester Salvation Army’s Castleview Apartment on North Broadway in downtown Rochester.

The victims have been identified as 57-year-old Phillip Hicks and 45-year-old Eric Flemming of Rochester. Captain Sherwin says all three men were residents of the apartment building, which features supportive housing for homeless, disabled, and low-income individuals.

Johnson was arrested after he was observed trying to exit the apartment building through a rear stairwell while police were responding to a report of a stabbing elsewhere in the building. Flemming and Hicks were found with critical stab wounds on the 4th floor around 7:15 p.m. and were rushed to St. Marys Hospital, where both men were pronounced dead around 8 p.m.

The investigation is ongoing and Rochester Police could release additional information tomorrow morning. At this point, information about a possible motive and other details about the deadly incident have not been disclosed.
