Rice County Sheriff Troy Dunn attended an emergency Faribault City Council meeting and told KDHL following the meeting Wilderness Park off 151st Street East and Highway 3 was being barricaded due to high water.  Sheriff Dunn added a couple of evacuations of homes in the area may be necessary if the water continues to rise.  Sheriff Dunn also requested citizens not attempt any canoeing or kayaking of either the Straight or Cannon Rivers.  He says there are a lot of logs and debris in the rivers and they don't want anybody in harms way including the first responders required for a rescue.  Sheriff Dunn also reminded parents to keep track of their children and pets and never drive over a road with water across if you can't see the road surface. Here is a video of what the Sheriff is talking about.  This was taken right by the road closed signs looking south.
