Dayna Norvold and Jason Demars of Rice County Habitat for Humanity will be discussing an upcoming fundraiser for the local chapter.

The Ice Golf benefit is being held in honor of Bill Sartor of Faribault this Saturday, February 27, at Winjum's resort on Roberds Lake in Faribault. Sartor was a tireless champion of Habitat.

Tee times will be 11AM and 1PM, with check-in at 10AM.

In addition to ice golfing, there will be a special "Help Make the Change" box to throw spare coins in, food specials, ice fishing, silent auction, live music and more. Tickets are $25 per person.

If you are not a golfer, they need more volunteers to help with setup, registration, silent auction and food sales. Jason and Maggie Demars are coordinating the event.

2015 Wilder Research in partnership with Habitat conducted a study on the impact of Habitat home ownership.

The study concluded Habitat home ownership results in an improved quality of life for participants. "The program enhances the human, social and economic capital of our communities resulting in benefits for all."

The 2,200 Habitat homeowners in Minnesota amounts to a reduction of government assistance needed by $6.4 million to $9.3 million a year.

If you can't listen at 9:30AM, then go to our YouTube channel and enjoy the program.
