Rice County Fair Queen Contestants on AM Minnesota 7-21-2015

Our traditional opening program at the Rice County Fair features the eight ladies vying for this year's Fair Queen.

The pageant is tonight at 7 and will be broadcast on KDHL Radio for those who can't attend. You can also watch it live on the KDHL YouTube channel.

Contest organizer Kathy Cap will give us some details about what goes into putting the event together and the bulk of the program will be spent getting to know the ladies a little bit.

I am privileged to once again emcee the pageant tonight and always enjoy visiting with these young women. I always make my pick after the AM Minnesota interviews and I have to confess most years I am not accurate in my selection. I would encourage you to listen and make your choices. In fact, it's more challenging on the radio because you obviously don't see them. You have to go by their personality, which will come through over the airwaves.
