A couple of months ago, Kathy Cap dropped off this special picture she found from the Rice County Fair a few years ago. The reason it is special is that Diane Hohrmam (front, left) passed away earlier this year. Diane loved the fair and was involved for decades along with the whole Hohrman family. She was always coming up with ideas to improve the fair. Then she took charge and followed through with whatever the project was. For example, it was Diane's idea to get a Children's Barnyard going at the Rice County Fair. We now have a very nice Children's Barnyard with 4-H and FFA members taking turns staffing it.

As a tribute in memory of Diane and everything she did for the Rice County Fair, there will be a short program this evening at 6PM in front of the Children's Barnyard. The Rice County Fair Board will be dedicating the Children's Barnyard in Diane's memory. I will never forget Diane's smile or laugh. Probably because she always seemed to be smiling! We will carry on but Diane will be missed. If you are coming to the fair for the Queen Coronation this evening, why not come a little early. I am sure it would mean a lot to the Hohrman family.
