Rice County Dairy Princess Emilie Trcka and Dairy Maid Jacy Saemrow Crowned

Saturday evening I had the privilege to emcee the annual Rice County Dairy Banquet at the American Legion in Lonsdale. Emilie Trcka, daughter of Mark and Deb Trcka of Lonsdale, was crowned the 2017 Rice County Dairy Princess. Emilie is a sophomore at South Dakota State University planning on applying to the nursing program. The 2017 Rice County Dairy Maid is Jacy Saemrow, daughter of Gordy and Hindy Saemrow of Waterville. Jacy is a student at Waterville-Elysian-Morristown schools.

One interesting fact about both the Trcka and Saemrow dairy farms is that they are both fifth-generation dairy farms. I suspect that most dairy farms in Minnesota are multi-generation dairy farms. When Rice County Dairy Princess Emilie Trcka was speaking at the banquet, I noticed her mom Deb sitting in front. Deb is in the middle of the picture above at the end of the table. I quickly grabbed my cell phone and took a picture of a very proud mom!
