The burning restrictions in Rice County have been lifted as of 8AM Thursday, April 16. The Rice County Sheriff's Department urges caution if you are burning, because the county is still lacking moisture. In a news release, Sheriff Troy Dunn and Jim Wilson, a forester with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources remind residents that common sense is the best advice when burning outdoors and the residents also should remember to obtain burn permits from their local fire wardens or the state DNR website.
