Rice County Attorney John Fossum stops by the KDHL studio to discuss how his office works with law enforcement agencies during a criminal investigation.

That is one of the topics I asked the county attorney to address on our program. I'm sure we will touch on others; if you have a question please text it to (507) 838-5233.

I know Fossum will be unable to talk about specifics of the investigation, but the suspicious package found earlier this week at the Rice County Government Services Center gave me the idea for the topic.

Rice County Sheriff Troy Dunn told KDHL his investigators had interviewed a person of interest and no arrests have been made in the case. The sheriff told me they would gather information and forward it to the county attorney to determine "possible charges."

We will probably talk a bit about the U.S. Supreme Court addressing Minnesota's criminal penalty for refusing a breathalyzer test after being stopped for alleged drunk driving. The high court may rule that a search warrant should be obtained.

AM Minnesota is at 9:30AM.

If you can't listen then, go to our YouTube channel at your convenience and watch the program.
