The Security Bank Building's historic clock has now returned to its home on Central Avenue in downtown Faribault after being restored.

The clock has not worked in years, and the Faribault Rotary Club worked to raise money and arranged for the restoration of the timepiece that adorned Central Avenue. Kicked off with a donation by Al Burkhartzmeyer, the Rotary held fundraisers and received donations to make the project possible. The beautiful stained glass work was completed by Jim Pilcher, and Mike Elwood of Hickory Dickery Doc The Clock Shop in Faribault handled the restoration.

To celebrate the historic clock's restoration and its placement back in downtown, a dedication is planned for Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 6:15PM at 302 Central Ave. in Faribault. All are invited to attend the event, which is co-hosted by the Faribault Rotary and the Faribault City Council.

Faribault is so lucky to have such beautiful historic buildings and features in the downtown area, and to have community members who put their time, talent and resources into preserving that heritage. The clock looks amazing!
