Reba McEntire's single "Back to God," from her forthcoming record Sing It Now: Songs of Faith & Hope, is powerful and moving -- and its just-released music video brings the song's lyrics to life.

McEntire and director Mason Dixon filmed scenes for the "Back to God" music video at Nashville's Tulip Street United Methodist Church and Mount Olivet Cemetery. The words "church" and "cemetery" sometimes evoke sadness and grief, and the video certainly captures those feelings -- but it also portrays hope and joy. Readers can press play above to watch.

The setting of the Tulip Street United Methodist Church is breathtaking, featuring soaring ceilings, vibrant stained-glass windows and brass organ pipes. Dixon was intentional in his use of cameras as well: The scenes outside of the church were shot with a hand-held camera, capturing feelings of realness and instability, while those inside were locked and smooth, to emphasize stability and serenity.

McEntire previously mentioned that there were many participants in her new music video. Most of them appear at the clip's funeral service, while some show up in various other scenes, but the storylines all weave together in the end. There is brokenness, certainly -- but the community aspect of the video makes something beautiful out of grief.

“I’ve been asked a lot lately about why now was the right time to release this song,” McEntire reflects in a press release. “I think it is always the right time to give it back to Him because we seem to mess things up on our own. We all need to just love each other more unconditionally, without judgement, because we can’t do this on our own.”

Sing It Now: Songs of Faith & Hope, a gospel record, is set for release Feb. 3; it's a double-disc set of 10 traditional hymns, 10 contemporary faith-filled tunes and one hidden track. Fans who pre-order the album on iTunes can enjoy a new song each week leading up to the project's release.
