The Goodhue Wildcat boys and girls basketball teams hosted Kenyon-Wanamingo tonight and got a split with the Knights. Goodhue's boys won 45-37 and the K-W girls came out on top 64-59.  The marquee game was the girls contest with both teams state ranked in their respective classes.  Goodhue rated 4th in Class A and K-W 2nd in 2A.  There were 5 lead changes in the first half before Kenyon-Wanamingo went to the lockeroom with a 30-27 lead.  This despite 6 threes by Goodhue from 5 different players.  The Wildcats finished the night with 12 three point buckets to 2 for the Knights.  Without a doubt K-W won the game by attacking the basket and getting to the free throw line.  They were 20 of 26 from the free throw line and Goodhue was 5 of 9.  Knight senior Audra Clark scored the first ten points of the second half as K-W pushed the 3 point halftime lead up to 17 only to see Goodhue whittle it Dow to make it a game late.  Clark finished with 22 points to pace all scorer sand Senior Siri Sviggum tallied 12 for Kenyon-Wanamingo while Mikayla Miller led Goodhue with 18 points and 8th grader Sydney Lodermier had 11 including three 3's.  The win clinches the HVL Blue Division title for K-W.  They remain unbeaten in league play and are at Cannon Falls on Friday.  Goodhue lost just their 5th game of the season and heads to Lacrescent Thursday night.
