The Minnesota Pork Producers Association and Minnesota Pork Board annual meeting will be Monday afternoon at the Hilton Hotel in downtown Minneapolis. Pork Congress 2016 will follow Tuesday and Wednesday at the Minneapolis Convention Center. Remember, the annual meetings were scheduled for December 1 but were postponed due to a snowstorm.

The Pork Producers Association annual meeting is only for pork producers and supporters that pay into the organization. Because it is voluntary, money can be used for public policy or whatever the members feel money should be spent on. The Minnesota Pork Board annual meeting is open to all pork producers that paid into the check-off. Because it is a mandated by law check-off, money can only be used for research, education and promotion.

Pork Congress 2016 will follow Tuesday and Wednesday at the Minneapolis Convention Center. There is a big trade show, educational seminars, award presentations, plus a time to network with other pork producers and those in the Industry. Pork Congress is one of my favorite events of the year, even though I have to go to the big city and pay to park my car! For more information go to the web site MNpork.com.
