This morning I received a call and email from Theresa at the Minnesota Pork Producers office in Mankato. The annual meeting of the Minnesota Pork Producers Association and Minnesota Pork Board that was scheduled for Tuesday in Mankato was postponed until January 18. Theresa said they had been getting calls from pork producers expressing concerns about the winter storm warning. In addition to some pork producers traveling a long way to the meeting some speakers were coming from Des Moines, Iowa, too.

The annual meeting has been rescheduled for January 18, 2016, at the Minneapolis Hilton. We will get more information as the date gets closer but I understand it is the day before Pork Congress. The annual meetings used to be held the day before Pork Congress and then they were moved to Mankato. In light of the weather forecast, this sounds like a good move to just before Pork Congress. That is unless we have another snow storm on January 18.
