Every time I am at the Minnesota State Fair I notice that the Oink Booth always has a lot of fairgoers in it. It may be to get the ever popular "pig ears" or maybe it is to see the sow with her piglets. When the Oink Booth is open there is a Pork Producer there to hold the piglet to let children and parents pet it.

This is then an opportunity for the Pork Producers and Pork Ambassadors to talk with consumers about how pigs and the environment are taken care of. Consumers want to know what the pigs eat, how long it takes for the piglet to reach market weight, why most pigs are raised in buildings, if antibiotics are used and if so how. The Minnesota State Fair is a great opportunity to reach thousands of consumers. This is why almost all of the Farm Groups and commodity organizations are at the Minnesota State Fair.
