Each week I’ll share a picture and a little bit about a pet that is available for adoption and waiting to find a good home. If you’re thinking of adding a pet to your home, pet adoption can be a very rewarding way to do so. Check out this week’s Pet of the Week and then check back next week to see a new furry friend looking for a fur-ever home.

Meet Maria, a German short-haired pointer. She is a senior dog and is a medium size. She enjoys a run, and is quite smart, being able to open lever-style door handles.

Mariah is spayed and is current on her vaccinations as well as being crate house trained. If you’re interested in learning more about Mariah, or about another pet available for adoption, visit safesanctuary.org for application forms and more information.

S.A.F.E Sanctuary is a local foster-based rescue and adoption program that aims to pair animals with good homes. They spay or neuter pets and work to train and socialize them during the fostering period.
