Farmers who have private pesticide applicator permits that expire March 1 have three ways to renew their permits.

Take the written exam that's available at your county Extension Office. Mail the $75 permit fee along with your test answer sheet in the addressed envelope provided.

You can also take the exam online by going to: http://www.extension.umn.edu/agriculture/pesticide-safety/private.html. The $75 fee is paid by credit card.

You may also attend a Recertification Workshop in the area. They will be held:

  • Thursday, January 21, at 12:30PM in the 4-H Building on the Fairgrounds in Faribault
  • Tuesday, January 26, at 9AM at the Blooming Prairie City Center
  • Wednesday, January 27, at 6PM at the Steele County Community Center in Owatonna
  • Wednesday, February 17, at 6PM at the Northfield Senior Center.

When attending one of the workshops, bring along an official picture ID along with your current permit card and a $75 check to cover the cost of the workshop.
