Owatonna Special Olympics Compete at Swim Meet

Yesterday was a beautiful day to be out and doing something, anything, to enjoy the Spring weather. With the change to the schedule for Minnesota Special Olympics, that meant it was a great day to schedule a swim meet. It was really nice to not have to worry about sub-zero wind chills making their way to the pool deck because the doors weren't shut quick enough.

We had approximately 20 athletes compete, and they swam their hearts out. So much excitement, and so many smiles. I was thrilled to see the excitement as they were collecting their awards at the ceremony after the competition.

A special thank you to the Rochester Rec Center for hosting this again this year, and many congratulations to the athletes who competed and good luck when you go to State Games in June.
