One man was injured and two suspects are believed to have been involved in a shooting in Owatonna on Sunday. No arrests have been made.

The Owatonna Police Department posts in a news release on their website that officers responded to a call at 3:06PM Sunday to a report of shots fired at 422 North Cedar Ave. at the Downtowner Apartments.

They were told by witnesses that a pair of suspects were let through the security gate and knocked on the door of an apartment. Officers found a bullet hole in the front door of the unit. Witnesses told officers they heard three shots and saw the suspects run away. Officers found a 26-year-old man at a different residence with a gunshot wound to his hand.

No arrests have been made.

The news release indicates that officials believe the shooting was directed at a specific person and was not a random act of violence. The Owatonna Police Department continues its investigation and encourages anyone with information to contact the detective bureau at (507) 444-3800.
