The Huskies girls lacrosse team now stands alone atop the Big Nine standings after a 12-1 win over Rochester Mayo at the OHS field Thursday.

The win improves Owatonna's record to 7-0 overall and 5-0 in the conference and the Huskies have now beaten every other Big Nine team. Mayo had been 4-0 in league games before Thursday night. In their seven games, Owatonna has given up 12 goals.

Faribault baseball broke a long losing streak with a 5-4 win over Owatonna at Bell Field on Thursday. OHS committed numerous errors and left the bases loaded in the top of the seventh in a tie game. The Falcons earned a walk-off win in the bottom of the inning. Owatonna plays a make-up game at Rochester Mayo on Friday at 5PM on Kat Kountry 105FM. Faribault is at Austin on Saturday.

The Falcons softball team also topped the Huskies 5-4. FHS scored four runs in the sixth inning on just two hits to rally from behind, turning the tables on OHS, who had scored a come from behind win in mid-April. A great crowd was in attendance for the game under the lights at Morehouse Park. It was also Kids' Night and Parents' Night. The Huskies host Rochester Mayo on Monday in a make-up game. The Falcons go to Sauk Rapids-Rice on Saturday for a tournament.

Huskies boys lacrosse dominated Mayo 15-5 Thursday. The OHS girls golf team finished fourth in a nine-team field at the Northfield Invitational with a 373. No. 2-ranked Red Wing shot a sizzling 294. Lakeville North finished with 322. Mayo shot 339. Owatonna's scorers included Marie Otterson (89), Megan Peglow (91), Shannon VanReeth (96) and Maddie Zulk (97).
