The Dakota Rice Corn and Soybean Growers and the Rice County Pork producers will be hosting the Oinker Open Scramble for Scholarships gold tournament Tuesday at the Summit golf course. The Summit golf course is located just southwest of Cannon Falls. For $75 you get a great pork chop meal, 18 holes of golf, 1/2 cart and you will be helping raise scholarship money for students continuing their education in some agriculture field. No preregistration is needed, just show up at noon tomorrow.

Last year enough money was raised to pay for two $5,000 Ag Future of America scholarships and one local $1,000 scholarship. It was a couple years ago that the Dakota Rice Corn and Soybean growers partnered with Ag Future of America based in Kansas City. Ag Future of America is a national organization working to educate the next generation of leaders in agriculture. Students that earn a scholarship also get to go to Kansas City and meet with Presidents and CEO's of major Agricultural companies.
