NTPA Truck and Tractor Pull at Rice County Fair Canceled

I was quite disappointed this afternoon when Rice County Executive Secretary John Dvorak told me the NTPA Truck and Tractor Pull this evening was canceled. This morning at the Rice County 4-H Livestock auction the thunderstorms moved in. Looking at the radar early this morning, I saw the line of storms in South Dakota moving our way. I guess they intensified as they approached Rice County.

The result was it rained until early afternoon and we received 1.5 to 2.0 inches of rain. Because of this, the track could not be prepared and dried out in time for the pull this evening. The weather sure has not coopered this year. First it was really hot, and when it did finally cool off we get a lot of rain. The NTPA Truck and Tractor Pull was very popular with a near full grandstand. I sure hope there is nice weather Sunday for the demolition derby.
