The Northfield Raider girls hockey team notched a 4-3 overtime win over St. Francis and the boys were blanked 4-0 by New Prague on Saturday.

In the girls game Nicole Laue scored the game winner on assists from Kate Boland and Maddie Lapanta 6:20 of overtime.

The game was as even as it gets. Both teams had 44 shots on goal and St. Francis actually out-shot Northfield in the overtime 9-5.

The Raiders were 0 for 3 and St. Francis was 0 for 2 on the power play.

The other goals for Northfield were a Brynn Puppe unassisted goal that started the scoring in the game. Laue had a goal during regulation assisted by Anne Hargis and Hargis tallied a goal assisted by Lapanta.

In the boys contest at Northfield, New Prague goalie Graydon Skok stopped all 29 of Northfield's shots and New Prague had 25 shots on Raider goalie Ryan Bielenberg.

Trojan Alex Gregor had a hat trick and Zach Davis collected four assists in the game.

The Raiders were 0 for 1 on the power play and New Prague was 0 for 3.

It was a scoreless first period and just 1-0 heading into the third period and the Raider power play in the third came during a five-minute major.

The Northfield girls are 4-3 overall and 2-0 in the Big Nine and the boys are 2-1 overall and  2-0 in conference play.

The girls host Rochester Century on Thursday and the boys will be home Tuesday against Bloomington Kennedy.
