Northfield Football Stunned by Rochester Century

There will be no rematch between the Northfield Raiders and Owatonna Huskies in the Section One Class 5A title game.

The Rochester Century Panthers pulled off a stunning 14-12 upset over the Raiders in Northfield Saturday night.

The Panthers had a 3-5 record during the regular season.  The Raiders had been unbeaten.

Century's final regular season game October 18 was a loss at home to Northfield 14-0.

The Panthers travel to Owatonna for the Section title game Friday night at 7:00 p.m.

When Rochester Century played Owatonna on October 6 in Owatonna the Huskies rolled to a 46-7 win.

Century avenged a 45-13 loss to Rochester Mayo with their section opening 7-6 win last Tuesday before making up for their previous loss to Northfield Saturday.

The winner of the Section plays at Lakeville North High School 6:00 p.m. Veterans Day against the Section 4 (either Mahtomedi or Tartan) victor.

In Class 5A all but one Section Final is played at the high seed.
