The Northfield Raiders scored a thrilling double overtime 103-95 win over the Rochester Mayo Spartans in Rochester Thursday night.  The game really should have ended sooner but with a 4 point lead and the ball with 7.9 seconds to go in the first overtime a Raiders player called for a timeout but they were out of timeouts.  A technical was assessed so Mayo was able to score at the free throw line and got the ball out of bounds.  A shot was missed but Calvin Dixon got a put back basket for the Spartans and the teams headed to their second overtime.

Rochester Mayo led 33-24 at the half.  Northfield poured in 52 second half points to force overtime.  The score was 76-76.  It was 87-87 after the first overtime.  Raiders senior Mason Zick had a monster game with 36 points.  Also in double figures for the Raiders were Kip Schetnan with 20, Mitchell Stanchina 18 and Blake Christensen 15 points.  The Spartans hit 18 three point baskets.

Gabe Madsen tallied a triple double with 26 points, 16 rebounds, 13 assists. Twin brother Mason also had 26 points.

Northfield has a date with Faribault Friday on KDHL Radio.  It's a girls/boys doubleheader and both games will be 920 on AM dial.  Download the FREE KDHL app and listen anywhere in the universe where there is cell service (I wonder if there is cell service on Mars)
