North Morristown's July Fourth celebration is 124 years old this year.

Event chairman Al Spitzack stops by KDHL to do a little walk down memory lane, but most importantly inform us about this year's happenings.

Grand Marshals for this year's parade are Bob and Arlene Mueller and lineup begins at 9AM with the parade starting at 10AM.

I'm honored to assist with the announcing of the parade again this year and we will be broadcasting the Patriotic Program on KDHL. The Patriotic Program usually begins about 15 minutes after the parade ends.

A Firecracker 5K Run and Walk kicks off the day at 8AM. The food stands and games on the grounds open 9AM. The food is awesome, with burgers and tacos in a bag and popcorn with real butter, homemade pies of every flavor imaginable, and beer, pop, lemonade, milk and bottled water.

Celebration buttons are $2 and help with the cost of the terrific entertainment each year.

Back again is Monroe Crossing, with shows at 1:30PM and 4PM. The Jolly Huntsman Old Tyme Band performs in the Beer Garden from noon to 4PM. Bernie King and the Guilty Pleasures take the stage at 12:30PM and 3PM.

A bluegrass trio named The Skally Lane will entertain at 7PM and Downtown Sound will be in the Beer Garden from 7:30-11:30PM.

It's all capped off with a gigantic fireworks display. It's the oldest Fourth of July celebration in Minnesota.

Proceeds benefit Trinity Lutheran School in North Morristown.
