It was a great 2017 North American Farm and Power Show in Owatonna this week! In terms of attendance it had to be one of the best in many years. Because the show is free there are no hard numbers on attendance. However, every year I get to the show at the same time every morning. This year all three days I had to park on the east side of the Steele County Fairgrounds by the new Livestock Show Arena!

Talking with many exhibitors on Saturday they were pleased with the farmers they talked with and the leads they had to follow up on. This in spite of low corn prices. Beans prices have been about $1 to $1.40 higher than last year while corn prices have been very similar to last year. I heard many farmers say if we could get a 30-40 cent rally in corn prices things would look much better. Maybe the fuel for that rally could come from the USDA acres or stocks report the end of this month?
